Great opportunity for a Director of Engineering to work for a North American vehicle/transportation industry leader located in Lincoln, NE.

Our client is looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to be responsible for all aspects of the Product Engineering Department, including leadership of product development, innovation, quality and engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Product Engineering group by providing them training, leadership, mentorship and guidance.
• Establish and improve Engineering processes, standards, and best practices for efficient and effective product development.
• Designing to established Cost Targets.
• Serve as primary liaison to broader organization in support of successful ERP implementation.
• Develop detailed product descriptions and designs, development timelines, product cost estimates, test plans and product introduction/implementation plans based on product specifications supplied by Sales / Customers.
• Support after sales service organization with technical assistance for problem resolution as well as communication on all product changes and introductions.
• Lead quality and collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design integrity, engineering compliance, and adherence to industry standards throughout the development and manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate and implement improvement to optimize Engineering workflows and ensure maximum productivity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience, preferable in an OEM manufacturing industry
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering, or similar
