Quality Improvement Manager – Manufacturing

A well-established manufacturer in the specialty materials industry is looking for a Quality Improvement Manager to drive excellence across safety, quality, productivity, and team performance.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee operations of a 24/5 Quality Control Lab with three skilled technicians.
• Train lab staff to safely and effectively perform critical quality testing procedures.
• Maintain and ensure calibration of lab and production quality measurement instruments.
• Lead cross-functional root cause investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop and roll out improved procedures to minimize nonconforming product issues.
• Provide hands-on training to production teams to reinforce quality control practices.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Partner with cross-departmental leaders to resolve customer complaints and manage on-hold materials.
• Leverage data to identify and prioritize areas for quality and process improvement.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.

🎓 Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in quality or manufacturing leadership roles.
• Strong background in coatings, adhesives, drying, mixing, or web converting processes.
• In-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to train, influence, and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with precision.
• Demonstrated use of Lean/Kaizen tools and problem-solving methodologies.
• Attention to detail and a relentless commitment to excellence.
